Two teenagers brutally murder two police officers during an assault on a Turkish police station
In the Balcova district of Izmir, Turkiye's third largest city, a shocking incident unfolded on Monday when a 16-year-old high-school student launched an attack on a local police station.
The perpetrator, who has not been named, first shot and killed a police officer who was standing guard in front of the station. The assailant then proceeded to attack another officer, resulting in the death of a second officer. Two other police officers and a civilian were wounded in the attack.
According to Elban, who provided additional details about the incident, the assailant used a pump-action shotgun, which belonged to his father. The assailant's father, along with his parents and two friends, were also detained for questioning.
As the assailant was subdued, he reportedly threw an object, causing panicked shouts of "Bomb!" and "Shoot him, brother, shoot him!" from the crowd. Bystanders can be heard yelling "Take his weapon!" and "Call an ambulance!" in the chaos that ensued.
The assailant was eventually arrested after being shot in the leg. He has no previous criminal record, and the motive for the attack is currently under investigation.

The 32-year-old Iranian national, identified only by his initials K.N., who was later detained in Istanbul, is alleged to have been in contact with the assailant. However, the arrested Iranian is not named in the available search results.
