The United States has announced a potential $179.1 million Foreign Military Sale to Ukraine for the sustainment of its Patriot air defense systems. This sale, approved by the U.S. State Department, is intended to strengthen Ukraine's ability to conduct self-defence and regional security operations.
The sale includes a comprehensive package of equipment and services. It includes spare parts, software, updates, system modifications, test and communication equipment, integration services, repair and return, storage, tooling, field surveillance and engineering services, training, publications, and other program support. The principal contractors for this potential sale are RTX Corporation in Arlington, Virginia, and Lockheed Martin in Bethesda, Maryland.
The implementation of this sale will require approximately five U.S. Government and fifteen contractor representatives. These representatives will be involved in various aspects such as training and periodic meetings at the U.S. European Command.
Former President Donald Trump announced the delivery of these systems, with Defense Minister Pete Hegseth and German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius involved in related negotiations. However, specific Ukrainian representatives have not been named in the search results.
