UAE asserts that any proposed Israeli annexation would contradict the essence of the Abraham Accords

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) continues to make significant strides in its foreign policy, with a focus on humanitarian aid, regional security, and diplomatic ties.

In a recent development, the UAE has emerged as the largest bilateral donor to Gaza, delivering 44% of all humanitarian aid to the Strip. This aid has also facilitated the evacuation of nearly 3,000 refugees, ill patients, and their companions from Gaza for treatment in the UAE.

Meanwhile, the UAE's Assistant Minister for Political Affairs, Lana Nusseibeh, made a statement on Monday about the Palestine issue. She called for an end to the war in Gaza, securing the release of all hostages, and ensuring that Hamas is disarmed and no longer able to control Gaza or its people. Nusseibeh also warned that Israeli annexation of Palestinian land would betray the spirit of the Abraham Accords.

The future of Palestine is considered essential for achieving peace in the Middle East. The UAE continues to advocate for diplomacy and a regional security framework that includes all stakeholders.

The Abraham Accords, signed in September 2020, normalized diplomatic relations between the UAE, Bahrain, Morocco, and Israel. As part of this initiative, the UAE is expanding its diplomatic ties across Asia and Africa and joining new multilateral platforms such as BRICS+.

In a separate but equally significant move, the UAE has provided nearly $4 billion in aid to Sudan over the past decade. This aid is aimed at supporting Sudan's economic recovery and stability.

Apart from diplomacy and aid, the UAE is also making strides in other areas. Haneen Dajani, a special correspondent in Abu Dhabi with over 15 years of reporting experience, is a shining example. Dajani is not only a seasoned journalist but also a passionate athlete, full Ironman finisher, and mountaineer who loves to embark on unusual challenges.

The UAE's commitment to peace and stability is further evident in its role as a mediator in the war in Ukraine. The country has mediated over 4,600 prisoner exchanges in the conflict.

On a broader scale, the UAE is engaging in discussions about the profound shifts shaping the global landscape. The second edition of the Hili Forum is being held, bringing together over 60 speakers and 1,000 participants from more than 30 countries. The forum, organised by the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA) and the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR), is discussing economic realignment, technological disruption, and evolving geopolitical dynamics.

Lana Nusseibeh also addressed the issue of Iran's nuclear program, stating that it remains a source of instability. She emphasised that force cannot resolve the issue, and diplomacy is the key to finding a peaceful solution.

In conclusion, the UAE's foreign policy is designed to protect security, safeguard prosperity, and enable aspirations at home while contributing to the "repair of the global fabric." Whether it's through humanitarian aid, diplomacy, or peacekeeping efforts, the UAE continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the Middle East and the world.
