DeFi Development Corp. Expands Treasury with UK Acquisition and Solana Focus
DeFi Development Corp., a leading player in the decentralised finance (DeFi) sector, has made a significant move to expand its treasury and bolster its presence in the UK market. The company has announced the purchase of a 45% share of London Stock Exchange-listed Cykel AI, marking the launch of DFDV UK, the first Solana (SOL)-based treasury vehicle in the United Kingdom.
This strategic move is part of DeFi Development Corp.'s Treasury Accelerator plan, which aims to create a worldwide network of funds that invest in Solana. DFDV UK will focus on buying and holding Solana and related digital assets, including Dogwifhat.
Joseph Onorati, the CEO of DeFi Development Corp., has referred to the establishment of DFDV UK as a milestone and a proof point for the company's global expansion strategy. Onorati, who was appointed as CEO in the second quarter of 2025, believes that DFDV UK and its future funds will boost the company's Solana per share value, a measure that connects the stock performance to Solana's price.
The purchase also aims to boost staking and validator operations for Solana, as the company seeks to strengthen its position in the crypto market by staking Solana and building up assets. DFDV UK will support platforms like Kraken by helping validate transactions, further solidifying its role in the Solana ecosystem.
DeFi Development Corp.'s actions show its dedication to supporting Solana's growth, and this move is not an isolated incident. The company has five more Solana-focused funds in the works, indicating plans to grow in other countries and continue its commitment to the Solana network.
