In a significant development, two individuals, aged 28 and 23, were arrested last week in Ulm on suspicion of drug trafficking. The arrests were made by the Ulm Criminal Police following investigations.
The suspects, a 28-year-old man with Portuguese citizenship and a 23-year-old Kosovar, were presented to the examining magistrate of Ulm District Court on Wednesday, 30th October. The magistrate issued a warrant for their detention on suspicion of illegal trafficking in narcotics in a significant amount.
During the searches conducted at two apartments and a so-called bunker site last Tuesday, approximately 724 grams of cocaine were seized. The seizure is pending confirmation by drug tests. Investigators also found packaging materials for drugs and several thousand euros in cash, allegedly from drug deals.
The 28-year-old Portuguese man was released after the completion of police measures. However, both suspects are now in detention in prisons.
The investigations by the Ulm Public Prosecutor's Office and police continue. Further examinations to determine the exact substances of the seized narcotics have been ordered.
