Under investigation for suspected arson in Reutlingen, a 36-year-old woman is confined.

In a significant development, the police in Reutlingen have apprehended a suspected arsonist. The suspect, a 36-year-old woman, was provisionally arrested on Friday and is currently in custody.

The series of fires in Reutlingen over the past few weeks has caused concern among locals. Garbage cans, a parasol, and even a trailer have been set on fire, leading the police to refer to a "possible series of small fires." One of these fires caused an estimated €50,000 in damage to a garage, and an 18-year-old woman was hospitalized with smoke inhalation.

The police traced the suspected arsonist through video footage. Further evidence was found during a search of her Reutlingen apartment. However, no information is given about the potential motive of the suspect or any potential charges or bail for her.

The public prosecutor's office involved in the case is in TΓΌbingen. Since mid-July, the suspect who has been in custody since Friday is believed to have questioned events related to a violent altercation between known persons, specifically a knife attack involving two men.

Whether the suspect is also responsible for these fires is still being investigated. The police are urging anyone with information to come forward and help in the ongoing investigation. The public is reminded to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
