On Saturday evening, a 49-year-old man found himself in hot water after a police patrol in Euskirchen suspected him of driving under the influence. The incident occurred at the intersection with Frauenberger StraΓe, where the man was riding an e-scooter along Paul-Ehrlich-StraΓe towards Monschauer StraΓe.
According to reports, the man was traveling with his 6-year-old son on the e-scooter. The police noticed the man holding a mobile phone to his ear and the child holding onto the handlebar. It was later discovered that the man did not have a driver's license, and he explained that he was using the e-scooter because of this.
A breathalyzer test at the scene revealed a blood alcohol content of 1.22% for the man, leading to the filing of a report for driving under the influence. A blood sample was taken from the man for further analysis. The identity of the police officer who reported the traffic offense is not publicly disclosed.
This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible behaviour on the roads, regardless of the mode of transport.
