Unemployment figures in Talavera have significantly improved over the past six months, according to Muñoz-Gallego, suggesting undeniable job growth in the region.
In the city of Talavera, good news abounds as unemployment rates continue to decrease and new initiatives are launched to support local businesses.
Over the past six months, the city has experienced a significant reduction in unemployment. Since March, the number of unemployed individuals has decreased by 891, and since August 2022, this figure has dropped further by 1,405 people. As of the current report, there are 7,265 unemployed individuals in Talavera.
One of the city's commitments has been met, as Talavera has managed to lower the unemployment rate below 7,500 during the summer. This achievement is a testament to the city's ongoing efforts to support its workforce.
The Emprende y Avanza: Entrepreneurship and Business Consolidation Program, co-financed by the ESF through the INCYDE Foundation and the Institute for Economic Promotion of Talavera, is set to begin on October 6 and last for 6 weeks. This program aims to support the digitization of small businesses, providing a global view of different functional areas of the company and developing a Business Plan/Improvement Plan. The training sessions will be free and held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
For those with business ideas for small commerce or proximity business and small businesses with between 1 and 10 employees, the Emprende y Avanza: Support Plan for Small Commerce will begin on September 22, 2023. This program, co-financed by the FSE+, State Employment, Education, Training and Social Economy Program through the INCYDE Foundation and the Institute for the Promotion of Talavera's Economy, aims to help consolidate and grow commerce as a key element of socio-economic development.
In addition to these programs, the Active Employment Launchpad Project of Santa Maria la Real Foundation is ongoing, offering group sessions and individual interviews. In August, 23 new registrations were recorded in the job pool of Talavera. Ipeta managed 19 job offers from 15 companies in August, requesting a total of 113 job positions. The most frequently demanded occupational fields were related to logistics and supply chain management.
Notable job offers in August included positions such as "Branch Warehouse Support" in the Supply Chain sector, advertised by companies like JTI.
The councilor appreciates the value of local businesses for their contribution to the city's economy and labor market. The investment in trainings this year will be 13,028.40 euros, co-financed at 85% by the municipality, contributing 19,542 euros in total. Each participating business will receive a Strategic Action Plan with specific improvement actions.
Moreover, the program will develop a business model based on the exploitation of new opportunities and increase competitiveness in the market. The program will also facilitate the creation of professional networks among business owners and institutions. Arnoud Krom will teach a session on adopting AI to grow a business without being a technology expert.
With these initiatives in place, Talavera continues to strive towards a more prosperous future for its businesses and workforce.
