Rumor surrounding Bouanani: Wohlgemuth comments, "A fitting nickname" - Unfriendly speculation about Bouanani: "An intriguing moniker"
VfB Stuttgart: Woltemade Heads to Newcastle, Bouanani Rumours Dismissed
VfB Stuttgart is set for a significant financial boost following the imminent departure of striker Nick Woltemade to Newcastle United, potentially bringing in up to 90 million euros. However, sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth has downplayed concerns that this record sum could complicate the transfer market situation for the Swabians.
Wohlgemuth emphasised that the club will continue to negotiate in a market-appropriate manner, avoiding inflated prices simply because they may have more funds at their disposal. He also highlighted that the club is deeply immersed in numerous ongoing processes.
Regarding transfer rumours, Wohlgemuth addressed the speculation surrounding Algerian international footballer Badredine Bouanani from OGC Nice. Contrary to reports from transfer journalists Fabrizio Romano and Santi Aouana, Wohlgemuth dismissed any confirmation of an agreement with Bouanani.
However, he did express interest in the player, calling Bouanani's name "cool," but stopped short of providing any concrete details. Wohlgemuth did confirm that the club has already signed Bouanani for around 20 million euros, with a contract extending until 2030. He also hinted at more offensive reinforcements being on the horizon.
Despite the dismissal of Bouanani's transfer, Wohlgemuth's statement suggests that VfB Stuttgart remains active in the transfer market, seeking to bolster their squad in the upcoming season.
