In a concerning turn of events, two incidents occurred on Friday, the 5th of September, involving unknown individuals posing as waterworks employees.

In Euskirchen-Wißkirchen, at approximately 1:00 PM, two males, one tall and muscular, the other shorter and slimmer, approached an elderly woman in Diemstraße. They claimed there was a dangerous bacterium in her tap water, and one of them even accompanied the woman to check a faucet while the other searched her apartment. Fortunately, no items were stolen, but a drawer in the hallway was found open. The Euskirchen police are urging witnesses with information about these individuals to contact them.

The first individual can be described as male, approximately 180 cm tall, with a muscular build, dark short hair, dressed in dark clothing, and spoke without an accent. The second individual is described as male, approximately 160 to 170 cm tall, slim build, dark short hair, dressed in dark clothing, and also spoke without an accent.

In a separate incident in Weilerswist-Groß-Vernich, at approximately 12:30 PM, two unknown individuals entered an elderly woman's apartment in Von-Ketteler-Straße, claiming to inspect the water pipes. Details about any stolen items or unusual behavior from this incident are not yet available.

The Euskirchen police are emphasising that unknown individuals should not be let into apartments or homes in general. If there is suspicion of fraudulent behaviour, the police should be contacted immediately. It's worth noting that the perpetrators connected to the Euskirchen incident are still unknown. They were responsible for breaking into a supermarket in Euskirchen-Roitzheim by climbing onto the roof and stealing tobacco products. The identities of these individuals have not been established as investigations continue. In Weilerswist-Groß-Vernich, unknown suspects impersonated employees of the waterworks, but no suspects have been publicly identified.
