The 7th Solingen Kippa Day, initially scheduled for September 5, has been postponed to Monday, September 30, at 4:30 PM due to a terrorist attack at the "Festival of Diversity". The event will take place on Walter-Scheel-Platz in front of the Solingen Town Hall.

The rally, which has been held annually in Solingen since 2018, aims to combat antisemitism, racism, intolerance, and xenophobia. It is organized by the city of Solingen, the Jewish Cultural Community of Bergisch Land, and the Solingen / Ness Ziona Friendship Association.

The event will be musically accompanied and will feature speeches from various dignitaries. The Mayor of Solingen, Tim Kurzbach, is scheduled to speak, as well as Leonid Goldberg, Chairman of the Jewish Cultural Community, and Gabriela Lauenstein, Chairwoman of the friendship association. Dr. Ilka Werner from the Evangelical Church Circle of Solingen will also address the crowd.

Male participants are encouraged to wear a Kippa as a sign of solidarity with their Jewish fellow citizens. The traditional religious head covering will be available on site for borrowing.

The 7th Solingen Kippa Day is a testament to the city's commitment to promoting unity and combating discrimination. It serves as a reminder that everyone has a role to play in fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.
