"Unrest Persists": Nils Petersen initiates another round-robin match

Nils Petersen, the former football national player and record goal scorer of SC Freiburg, made his Kreisliga debut for Sportfreunde Oberried this season, and the experience seemed to be a comfortable one for the Olympic silver medallist.

Petersen, who had concerns about the specifics of training and team dynamics before joining Oberried, found solace in the welcoming attitude of his new teammates. They helped ease his concerns and made him feel comfortable, even going as far as making light-hearted jokes to put him at ease.

In a podcast, Petersen discussed his thoughts about joining Oberried, revealing that he woke up early for the match, feeling nervous like before. However, the atmosphere during the game was described as "beautiful" by Petersen after the game.

The match, which had an early meeting time of 11:15 am, was against the reserve team of FC Freiburg St.-Georgen and ended in a 2:2 draw. Over 600 spectators watched Petersen's Kreisliga debut, and despite not scoring himself, Petersen set up a goal and earned a penalty.

Petersen seemed content with his performance, having ended his active professional career in spring 2023. He expressed a desire to avoid causing disruption and just play regularly.

Interestingly, Petersen revealed that he received "malicious calls" from other small clubs in the region, which he referred to as the "malian calls." However, his commitment to Sportfreunde Oberried was facilitated by a teammate.

Petersen played for the second team of Sportfreunde Oberried in this season, and he did not mention any specific concerns about the color of his training clothes being a certain color or his teammates' meal times.

All in all, Petersen's debut for Sportfreunde Oberried was a successful one, and it seems that he has found a comfortable and welcoming environment to continue his football career.
