Unspoken Dramatic Piece Hailing from Brazil: Bambu Bambá
In October, the Heinz-Hilpert-Theater Lünen and Förderverein Theater Lünen e.V. will present a captivating and thought-provoking musical theater piece for children, BAMBU BAMBÁ. This performance is scheduled for October 1st at 5 pm and October 2nd at 11 am.
BAMBU BAMBÁ is a touching and courageous musical theater piece suitable for children aged 6 to 5th grade. Created by the renowned Brazilian artist collective Bando de Brincantes, the play tells the captivating story of Bambá, a black boy who must leave his home due to war and environmental disasters.
Bambá's journey encounters new cultures, learns about rituals, and finds strength in his own traditions. The play conveys a message of hope, courage, and unity through imagination and powerful music. It particularly resonates with children from migrant backgrounds and playfully dismantles prejudices.
On October 2nd at 5 pm, there will be an artist talk on "Theater, Migration, Diaspora, and Childhood." The talk will be conducted in English and Portuguese with German translation.
