New Porsche 911 Turbo S: A High-Performance Contender in the Pseudo Supercar Market

Porsche has unveiled the latest addition to its iconic 911 lineup, the 992.2 Turbo S. This new model is positioned as a do-it-all pseudo supercar, competing against the likes of McLaren's Artura, Aston Martin's Vantage S, Mercedes-AMG's GT63, and the new Ferrari Amalfi.

The 992.2 Turbo S is not just a more powerful and quicker version of its predecessor; it's the most powerful series-production 911 to date, boasting a mighty 701 bhp. This impressive figure is achieved through a 701bhp, 590lb ft twin-turbo 3.6-litre flat-six engine, a significant upgrade from the 572 bhp of the previous model.

The engine, shared with the GTS model, has undergone some changes under the skin compared to its predecessor. Notably, it is mounted 50mm lower, and it does not have belts or a conventional alternator or starter motor due to the T-Hybrid system. This system combines the engine with an electric motor and a 1.9kWh high-voltage battery, enabling high performance and hybrid technology.

The new Turbo S is expected to be some 14 seconds quicker around the Nürburgring than its predecessor, demonstrating its enhanced speed and agility. The manufacturer, Porsche, has priced the 992.2 Turbo S at £199,100, a significant increase from the £168,900 of the 992.1 introduced in 2020.

The new 911 Turbo S is a coupe, and it is the latest model in the 992 series. It's a high-performance sports car that promises to deliver an exhilarating driving experience. The new Turbo S is available in Germany and is expected to make waves in the pseudo supercar market.

In summary, the new Porsche 911 Turbo S is a powerful, quick, and technologically advanced sports car that aims to rival the best in the pseudo supercar category. With its hybrid technology, improved engine, and enhanced performance, it's set to impress both Porsche enthusiasts and casual drivers alike.
