In a glamorous display of automotive artistry, the Ferrari Superamerica 45 made its grand debut at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este this week. This one-off creation, commissioned by car collector Peter Kalikow, was designed and built by the renowned Italian design house, Pininfarina.

The Ferrari Superamerica 45 is a testament to Pininfarina's craftsmanship, featuring a rotating and folding carbon fiber roof with a rear screen, a design that has been referred to as an origami job. The car also boasts painted buttresses, a chrome grill, aluminum A-Pillars, double air vents on the front wings, body-color highlights on the alloys, side skirts, rear diffuser, and a contrasting dark blue splitter. All these elements come together to create a stunning visual spectacle.

The reveal of the Ferrari Superamerica 45 was accompanied by the sale of several other rare and valuable Ferraris at the R.M. Auctions sale, which took place during the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este weekend. The 1953 Ferrari 340/375 MM Pinin Farina Berlinetta 'Competizione' fetched €9,856,000, while a 1962 Ferrari 400 Superamerica sold for €2.8 million.

The Ferrari Superamerica 45 is named by Peter Kalikow to celebrate the 45th anniversary of his first Ferrari purchase. Interestingly, the car is finished in Blue Antille, the same colour as a 1961 400 Superamerica owned by Kalikow. Peter Kalikow also owns all tooling as part of the one-off program for the Ferrari Superamerica 45, suggesting that a factory Ferrari Superamerica with the folding roof design will not be produced.

The Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este is one of the finest car events, attracting collectors, enthusiasts, and automotive connoisseurs from around the world. This year's event was particularly special, with R.M. Auctions making a record €33 million at their inaugural Sporting Classics of Monaco sale.

As the Ferrari Superamerica 45 takes its place among the automotive elite, it serves as a reminder of the enduring allure of Ferrari and the artistry of Pininfarina. This one-of-a-kind masterpiece is sure to captivate audiences for years to come.
