Upcoming two-wheeler releases to keep an eye on in August 2025
The motorcycling world is abuzz with the upcoming launch of the Triumph Thruxton 400, a cafe racer motorcycle that promises to blend the legacy of Triumph's classic cafe racers with modern technology. Set to be introduced on August 6, 2022, the Thruxton 400 is poised to offer a unique blend of retro aesthetics and modern convenience and safety features.
Under the hood, the Thruxton 400 houses a 398cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 39.5 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. This power is transmitted via a six-speed manual gearbox with a slip and assist clutch, ensuring smooth gear shifts.
The motorcycle is expected to share the same underpinnings as the Speed 400, including a black inverted front fork, rear monoshock suspension, single disc brakes front and rear with dual-channel ABS, 17-inch alloy wheels, and LED lighting throughout.
The Thruxton 400's design is reminiscent of classic cafe racers, with a small front "bikini" fairing, clip-on handlebars, bar-end mirrors, a sharper fuel tank with inset Triumph logo, and a sporty compact seating position. It also comes equipped with an analog-digital instrument cluster and features such as traction control, making it suitable for everyday riding and leisure use.
Performance-wise, the motorcycle is expected to reach a top speed of around 160 km/h (100 mph). The India-specific model may feature locally sourced tyres such as MRF or Apollo instead of premium Pirelli Rosso tyres seen on international test models.
The expected ex-showroom price for the Thruxton 400 is roughly ₹2.80 lakh, positioning it as a premium 400cc offering within Triumph's lineup.
Meanwhile, Yezdi Motorcycles is also gearing up for the launch of an updated Roadster on August 12, along with a potential new Scrambler. Details on the new Roadster are scarce, but it is expected to pack a comprehensively reworked engine, improved build quality, new features, and more performance.
In the electric motorcycle segment, Oben Rorr EZ is set to be introduced on August 5, 2025. The new model is expected to feature high-performance LFP battery technology, higher heat resistance, and double the lifespan compared to its predecessor. More details on the Oben Rorr EZ will be available at the launch.
Lastly, the Honda CB125 Hornet and the Honda Shine DX have also been making headlines. The CB125 Hornet, a new 125 cc commuter motorcycle with a sharp design, USD front forks, and a 4.2-inch TFT screen, has a price tag of ₹1.12 lakh (ex-showroom). The Honda Shine DX, an entry-level variant in Honda's commuter motorcycle lineup with refreshed graphics, a long seat, and an LCD instrument cluster, is priced at ₹74,959 (ex-showroom) and deliveries will commence from mid-August.
Each of these launches promises to bring exciting new offerings to the motorcycling community, catering to diverse tastes and preferences. Stay tuned for more updates as these new models hit the market.
