Rumours are circulating about significant improvements to the telephoto lens in the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro models. According to leaked information, the telephoto camera in the iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to be one of the best on a smartphone.

The leaker known as Instant Digital, who posted on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, has suggested that the telephoto lens in the iPhone 17 Pro Max will have a substantial upgrade compared to the current model. The current iPhone 16 Pro models feature a 12MP telephoto lens with a fixed focal length of 120mm and a fivefold optical zoom.

The new iPhone 17 Pro Max is rumoured to offer up to eightfold optical zoom, providing users with more versatility in their photography. Additionally, users will have the option to choose between a fivefold and eightfold optical zoom on the iPhone 17 Pro models.

The telephoto lens in the iPhone 17 Pro models is expected to have a movable design, providing multiple focal lengths. This design change may result in a larger camera notch in the iPhone 17 Pro models to accommodate the additional components.
