Upgrading the fun factor with fresh new features in the latest data release
Get ready, Trainers! The upcoming updates for Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl are packed with new features that will enhance your gaming experience. Here's what you can expect:
The updates will introduce Link Trades and Link Battles, allowing you to connect with other Trainers in exciting new ways. While a Nintendo Account is necessary to connect to the internet, a Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required for this purpose.
The games, developed by ILCA, will be released on November 19, 2021. Once you've started your adventure, you'll be able to visit facilities after entering the Hall of Fame.
Interactions in the Union Room, where you can connect with other Trainers, will initially be limited to two players. However, future updates will increase this limit, allowing for more social gaming. The Union Room will also receive greeting and Capsule Decoration functions in future updates.
Communication features for the Grand Underground, Super Contest Shows, Union Room, and Mystery Gift are also included in the update data. To check if the update data has been downloaded, simply press the + or - button while the cursor is over the game icon on the HOME Menu. If the version information under the title shows Ver. 1.1.0, the update data has been downloaded.
The Mystery Gift menu option will appear after about two hours of gameplay, requiring a software update and an internet connection. A Nintendo Account is required to redeem items in the Mystery Gift menu. Connecting to the internet and using the Mystery Gift feature allows you to receive early-purchase bonuses, such as a Manaphy Egg and the Platinum Style outfit, until February 21, 2022.
For Link Trades at the Global Wonder Station (GWS) facility and Link Battles via the Colosseum function in Pokémon Centers, you'll have to wait for future updates.
Please note that a Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to interact with other Trainers via internet communication.
The publisher of these planned future updates is The Pokémon Company, so keep an eye out for more exciting announcements!
