In a significant development, Zydus Therapeutics has announced positive top-line results from the EPICS-III Phase 2(b)/3 Trial for Saroglitazar Magnesium, a drug that targets primary biliary cholangitis (PBC). This trial comes at a crucial time as Saroglitazar Magnesium has received Orphan-Drug status and Fast-Track designation from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The EPICS-III Phase 2(b)/3 Trial was conducted by Zydus Therapeutics and aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Saroglitazar Magnesium in patients with PBC. The trial's results were positive, indicating a promising future for this drug in the treatment of PBC.

Primary biliary cholangitis is a progressive liver disease that affects women more often than men. It damages the bile ducts in the liver, leading to the build-up of bile and liver damage over time. Currently, there are limited treatment options available for PBC, making the positive results from the EPICS-III Trial particularly noteworthy.

Meanwhile, in the realm of women and child healthcare, Mahajan Imaging & Labs has partnered with Fortis La Femme. This partnership aims to provide comprehensive healthcare services for women and children, addressing the unique health needs of these demographics.

On a separate note, the ABDM 2.0 southern region consultation meeting was organized by the National Health Authority and hosted by the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIITH). The meeting aimed to discuss the progress and future plans of the Atmanirbhar Bharat Digital Health Mission (ABDM) 2.0 in the southern region of India.

These developments underscore the ongoing efforts to improve healthcare, both in the United States and India, and highlight the promise of innovative treatments like Saroglitazar Magnesium for conditions like PBC.
