Traffic Accident on A1 Highway Near Delmenhorst: Vehicles Involved, Injuries, and Damage

On Monday, 01. September 2025, a significant traffic accident occurred on the A1 highway near Delmenhorst. The accident involved three vehicles: a Mercedes, a Chrysler, and a truck.

The incident took place around 15:00 hours and resulted in one of the vehicles, the Chrysler, catching fire. Fortunately, the fire was extinguished immediately by first responders, and no further damage was reported.

All parties involved in the accident were taken to nearby hospitals by ambulance for examination. The 47-year-old woman who operated the Mercedes, a resident of Lingen, and the 44-year-old man who drove the Chrysler, a man from Damme, sustained minor injuries, along with their respective passengers. A 53-year-old man operating the truck was also involved, but his name was not disclosed in the sources.

Two of the vehicles, the Chrysler and the truck, were no longer roadworthy and had to be towed away. The estimated material damage to the vehicles amounts to 38,000 euros.

The A1 highway was temporarily closed for the investigation and removal of the vehicles, and for the subsequent cleaning of the roadway. The highway was partially reopened later for traffic.

The voluntary fire department Holdorf was deployed with a total of 17 personnel to ensure the fire was completely extinguished and no further damage was caused.
