The 82nd International Venice Film Festival, held in the heart of Italy, concluded with a grand ceremony on September 6, 2023. The event was a celebration of cinematic artistry, with a diverse array of films and talents being honoured.

The top prize, the Golden Lion, was awarded to Jim Jarmusch's poignant family drama, "The Father, The Mother, The Sister, The Brother." This thought-provoking film explores the lives of different generations of a family in New York, Paris, and Dublin.

In a surprising turn, Brady Corbet, the director of the post-war epic "Brute," was the recipient of the main prize. "Brute" is a powerful film about an architect who survived the Holocaust and rebuilds his life in America. However, Corbet, who is not widely documented or recognized in public sources, was not present to accept the award.

Nicole Kidman, who won the Best Actress award for her role in "Little Girl," was also unable to attend the ceremony due to her mother's passing. Halina Reijn, the director of "Little Girl," accepted the award on Kidman's behalf.

Vincent Lindon won the Best Actor award for his gripping performance in "The Quiet Son." In this film, Lindon plays a single father whose son becomes radicalized by far-right extremists.

Italian actor Tony Servillo won the Best Actor award for his role in "Mercy" by director Paolo Sorrentino.

The Silver Lion was awarded to Kaouther Ben Hania's "Voice of Hind Rajab." This moving film narrates the final moments of a Palestinian girl's life in Gaza, who died in January 2024.

The French duo Valeria Donzelli and Gilles Marchand won for Best Screenplay for their film "To Work."

Ben Safdie was honoured with the award for Best Director at the Venice Film Festival for his film "Destroyer."

In a separate announcement, the release date for the "Best Film of the Year" sequel was revealed.
