Veteran advertising executive Vilhelmsson secures high-ranking position once more

In a move that signals a new direction for DDB, Kris Vilhelmsson has been appointed as the location lead for the agency's partnership with Cupra and Seat. Vilhelmsson brings a wealth of experience in the automotive industry, having worked with brands like Volvo, BMW Motorrad, Opel, Toyota, and Müller in the past.

Prior to joining DDB, Vilhelmsson held the position of Managing Director at Havas Germany. However, he parted ways with the company a year ago, reportedly without warm words from management. Around the same time, Peter Mergemeier, Vilhelmsson's former CEO at Havas Germany, also left the company.

Havas Germany is currently undergoing changes, with Meik Vogler taking on the role of Chief Client Officer as the company aims to reinvent itself. Henrike Mertens also joined DDB last year and will lead the consulting and coordination with partner agencies.

In his new role at DDB, Vilhelmsson will support Cupra and Seat in their communicative development. Meanwhile, Norman Henkel has been appointed as the new Executive Creative Director (ECD) responsible for creative output across campaigns, brand experience, and trade marketing at DDB Frankfurt.

Vilhelmsson began his career on the industrial side at Procter & Gamble before moving into the advertising industry. His appointment at DDB is expected to bring fresh perspectives and expertise to the agency's work with Cupra and Seat.

As DDB continues to evolve, the addition of Vilhelmsson and Henkel to its team is a significant step forward. The changes at Havas Germany, led by Vogler, also promise to bring new energy and direction to the company. With these changes, both agencies are poised to make a strong impact in the competitive advertising landscape.
