Vibrant Eyeball Art Workshop: Arnsberg Station Now Adorned with Colors
In the heart of Arnsberg, Germany, a unique vacation program has brought colour and creativity to the city's train station and museum. Funded by the cultural office of the city of Arnsberg for urban arts, the project was a collaboration between the family office, the local youth fire brigade, and the Arnsberg Fire History Association e.V.
The highlight of the program was two graffiti workshops, where 16 children and young people, guided by the graffiti artists from "SprΓΌhduo" from Soest, transformed a WC container next to the train station and a wall measuring 32 x 4 meters at the museum. The style and colour scheme of the artwork at both locations are similar, enhancing the visual appeal of the areas.
The artwork at the train station, visible to those arriving by train, was praised by Arnsberg's mayor, Ralf Paul Bittner. He commented that the artwork not only enhances the importance of the fire department but also improves the train station area. The WC container, decorated with Arnsberg landmarks, has become an eye-catching visual that adds to the city's charm.
The two projects also provided an opportunity for the participants to experience the fire department's history up close and personal. The program included a tour in the "Brennpunkt" museum, a hands-on museum about the fire department's history. Participants could also spray artworks on paper and canvas to take home as souvenirs.
All involved are proud of their work and hope the artworks will be preserved for a long time. The Arnsberg Fire History Association e.V. provided catering for the workshop, serving a warm lunch daily. On the last workshop day, the mayor visited to admire the artwork.
The graffiti workshops are not just a visual enrichment for the areas but also a testament to the city's commitment to fostering creativity and engaging its youth. The participants, guided by experienced artists, have created a lasting impact on the city's landscape, making Arnsberg a more vibrant and exciting place.
