In the heart of Germany, the city of Bochum is gearing up for a series of demonstrations in September, each with a unique focus but a unifying theme of resistance against fascism.

The CSD Bochum, scheduled for September 6, 2025, will kick off at 2:00 PM from the Bergbaumuseum. The organisers have called for widespread participation, promising a day of solidarity and advocacy.

On the same day, Seebruecke will hold a demonstration at Bochum Central Station, while the Anti-War Day rally will take place on Kortumstrasse, between the Drehscheibe and Citypoint.

The Seebruecke organisation, known for their human chain demonstrations, has announced another event on September 6, 2025, starting at 4:00 PM. Last year, an estimated 2,000 people formed an unbroken human chain around the historic town hall in Bochum, a sight that echoed the spirit of unity and resistance.

The Bochum Monday Demonstrators will also be participating in these demonstrations. On September 1, 2025, they will gather for their rally at 6:00 PM on Kortumstrasse, marking the start of the Anti-War Day.

The protests will feature speeches from various organisations, including Grandmas Against the Right, Seebruecke, Union of Persecutees of the Nazi Regime, and others. The demonstrations will loudly echo the chant "All together against fascism", and will sharply criticise the demonization of foreigners by right-wing parties like the AfD.

At the closing rally, an altered version of the hymn "Bella ciao" was sung, reflecting the passionate spirit of the protests. Fighting songs were also performed during the demonstrations, adding to the emotional intensity.

The focus of these protests is clear: to demand that fascist parties have no place in the city council of Bochum or the Ruhr parliament. A coalition of organisations, including Amnesty International, Bochum Alliance Against the Right, women's and migrant organisations, will join forces in these demonstrations, standing united against the rising tide of fascism.

Photos from last year's human chain demonstration in Bochum are available, offering a glimpse into the powerful and moving displays of solidarity that these events inspire. As the dates approach, it is expected that Bochum will once again resonate with the echoes of unity and resistance.
