In the gripping 90-minute crime series, D 2025, German Ambassador Karla Lorenz, portrayed by Natalia Wörner, finds herself embroiled in a web of corruption and blackmail in Rome. With the support of Italian Chief Commissioner Ricarda Motte, played by Clelia Sarto, Lorenz uncovers a shocking mystery that involves the death of a young German nun.

The series, directed by Roland Suso Richter, takes a dramatic turn when Lorenz discovers the body of a nun in the convent of the "Patronesses of the Virgin Mary" in Rome. The episode, titled "Death of a Nun - The Diplomat in Rome," is the 8th instalment of the series, which has an FSK rating of 12.

Micha Hauser, a friend of the deceased, alerts Lorenz about the incident. As Lorenz delves deeper into the case, she encounters a wall of silence from the Mother Superior and Cardinal Köhlbauer, leading her to suspect a cover-up.

The Vatican gets involved in the investigation, adding another layer of intrigue to the series. The German government, however, urges caution to preserve diplomatic relations.

In the series, Giulia Bianchi is portrayed by Samantha Scuto Hanses, while Jan Horava is played by Alexander Beyer. Sister Sophie is portrayed by Maria Matschke-Engel. The director of the 8th episode, "Tod einer Nonne," is Roland Suso Richter, who also directs the entire series.
