Vintage-inspired Rezvani's Porsche 911 radiates classic charm
In a new venture, Rezvani Motors, known for its SUVs like the Tank and Knight, has unveiled a new division called Rezvani Retro. This division specialises in custom Porsche 911 builds, with the first creation being the RR1.
The RR1, inspired by the late-'70s Porsche 935, now exists in the metal, having been previously teased earlier this year with renderings. The RR1 is a unique blend of "timeless looks" paired with "today's engineering."
The RR1 is based on the current 992-generation Porsche 911, and only 50 models will be built. Each RR1 is customised, with options including Brembo GT-S brakes, centre-lock wheel conversions, Ohlins TTX-Pro coil-overs, and a custom livery.
The entry RR1 600 uses a 3.0-litre twin-turbo flat-six engine from the 911 Carrera, tuned to 441kW. This powerful engine propels the RR1 600 from 0 to 100km/h in about 3.0 seconds. For those seeking even more speed, the RR1 750 starts with the 911 Turbo S and is tuned to 552kW, enabling a 0-100km/h acceleration of just 2.0 seconds.
Unlike Rezvani's SUV range, the RR1 does not come with bulletproofing or spy-spec gadgetry - at least, not yet. However, whether the RR1 will incorporate Rezvani's ballistic heritage into the Porsche project remains uncertain.
The first completed Rezvani Retro RR1 donned the classic Martini livery over mostly carbon fibre bodywork. This particular model is a testament to the potential customisations available for the RR1.
The base price for a Rezvani Retro RR1 build is US$195,000 before options, on top of the donor car's cost. A base 911 Carrera now lists at US$132,300 plus fees, making the absolute entry price for an RR1 roughly US$329,650 (around NZ$555k at current exchange rates).
The RR1 retains the original 911 doors but has a wide, aggressive shell, setting it apart from the standard Porsche 911. With its powerful engines, customisable options, and unique design, the Rezvani Retro RR1 is sure to turn heads on the road.
