After much anticipation, Cupra, the Spanish automotive brand, has announced the release of its first all-electric offering in the UK, the Cupra Born VZ. The vehicle, based on the VW ID.3, is set to go on sale in November with prices starting at £44,625.
The Cupra Born VZ is a high-performance electric vehicle that boasts a 79kWh battery and a single 322bhp motor at the rear. This setup allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0-62mph in just 5.6 seconds, with a maximum torque of 402lb/ft.
The manufacturer of the Cupra Born VZ is none other than Cupra, a brand that prides itself on innovation and performance. The vehicle is built in Spain and utilises Volkswagen's MEB platform for its electric powertrain.
Marcus Gossen, SEAT and CUPRA Director UK, expressed his excitement about the new model, stating that the Cupra Born VZ exceeds expectations with more power, enhanced refinement, and builds upon the strengths of an already exceptional car.
The Cupra Born VZ also features a number of impressive additions, including improved chassis dynamics, Enceladus Grey CUP bucket seats, Sennheiser Sound, and 20'' Thunderstorm alloys.
Interestingly, the Cupra Formentor, which arrived as a concept eighteen months ago, is the first Cupra that's not a SEAT. The CUPRA Formentor V1, available with a 1.5 litre petrol engine and prices starting at £27,395, is another offering from the brand.
Meanwhile, the high-performance version of the Cupra Formentor, the VZ2, is already available for sale in the UK with prices starting at £39,830.
