Volkswagen initiates large-scale manufacturing of ID.3 GTX model, featuring FIRE+ICE technology, in Zwickau and Dresden facilities

The automotive world is abuzz with the latest release from Volkswagen – the ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE. This special edition model, developed in collaboration with fashion brand Bogner FIRE+ICE, promises an exhilarating driving experience combined with stylish design elements.

A Colorful Divide

The interior of the ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE is color-divided, with the driver's side and seat featuring the accent color "On Fire Red," while the passenger side is dominated by "Keep Cool Blue" ("Ice") design elements. The roof frame strip, too, sports a "Flaming Red" eloxal paint.

Unique Exterior Design

The ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE boasts a unique "Ultra Violet Metallic" paint, similar to its Golf predecessor. The C-pillar sports a transparent-matte film with the FIRE+ICE geometric pattern. The vehicle's roof edge spoiler bears the Fire-and-Ice logo from the 1990s. The "Locarno" 20-inch wheels, finished with an ultra-violet metallic eloxal and glossy rotation, along with red GTX hub covers, complete the exterior look.

Under the hood, the ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE offers two powertrain variants: one delivering 210 kW (286 PS) and the other 240 kW (326 PS). Both versions produce a maximum torque of 545 Nm. The more powerful version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and is electronically limited to 200 km/h.

Battery and Charging Capabilities

Power is supplied by a 79 kWh lithium-ion battery (net). The battery can be charged at DC fast-charging stations with up to 185 kW, allowing it to be charged from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 26 minutes.

Rear Lights and Special Features

The latest-generation LED rear lights of the ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE are darkened for the special model. A unique feature is the light projections upon opening the vehicle, which display graphical representations of "Fire" (driver's side) and "Ice" (passenger side) on the ground.

Seat Design Inspired by Bogner FIRE+ICE Collections

The seats of the ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE are quilted like down jackets and feature a simulated zipper and FIRE+ICE logo, inspired by Bogner FIRE+ICE collections.

Availability and Production

A total of 1,990 examples of the ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE can be ordered, starting at 56,020 euros. Production of the ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE special edition has begun in Saxony, at the Zwickau vehicle plant and the Glass Manufactory Dresden.

Since November 2019, over 350,000 ID.3 vehicles have been produced in Zwickau and Dresden, with around one in ten being sporty GTX variants, upon which the ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE is based. The manufacturer of the ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE special model is Volkswagen.
