Voting for the Integration Council Initiated on September 14 - Ballot casting commences on August 18

In Bergisch Gladbach, approximately 20,000 residents are eligible to vote in the Integrations Council election on September 14, 2025. Here's a guide to help you exercise your voting rights.

Direct Voting

If you prefer to vote in person, you can visit the municipal direct voting office from August 18, 2025. The office is located on the Zanders site, An der Gohrsmühle 25, 51469 Bergisch Gladbach. It will be open Monday to Friday between 10 am and 6 pm, and Saturday between 10 am and 3 pm.

Please note that parking in the turnaround area of the access road, on rented (private) parking lots, or on the Zanders site itself is prohibited. Due to limited parking capacity, it is recommended to use nearby public parking lots, arrive on foot, by bicycle, or by public transportation.

A personal ID or passport is required for direct voting.

Postal Voting

For those who would rather vote by post, you can apply for postal voting (briefwahl). Voting notifications for the Integrations Council election will be sent to eligible voters by post by August 24th, 2025. Completed voting documents for postal voting must reach the voting office by 4 pm on election day.

Eligibility

To be eligible to vote in the Integrations Council election, you must:

  • Not be a German citizen as defined in Article 116, Paragraph 1 of the Basic Law.
  • Possess a foreign citizenship.
  • Acquire German citizenship through naturalization or according to § 4, Paragraph 3 of the Citizenship Act.
  • Be 16 years old on election day.
  • Have been legally resident in the federal territory for at least one year.
  • Have had a principal residence in the municipality for at least 16 days before the election.

Please note that only those registered in the voter registry can vote in the Integrations Council election. Those not registered can be added until 12 days before the election and must provide proof of their eligibility to vote.

Telephone requests for voting documents are not possible for the Integrations Council election. If you have any questions, you can contact the voting office for the Integrations Council election in Bergisch Gladbach at 02202 - 14 2888. The office is located at Scheidtbachstraße 23, 51469 Bergisch Gladbach.

The direct voting office will close for the last time on September 12, 2025, at 3 pm.
