German National Charged with Leadership in Domestic Terrorist Organization and Preparation of High Treasonous Enterprise

Today, January 21, 2025, marks a significant date in the German justice system as Joerg S., a German national, was arrested by the Investigating Judge at the Federal Court of Justice (BGH) in Karlsruhe.

The arrest was executed in connection with allegations of leadership in a domestic terrorist organization and preparation of a high treasonous enterprise. Dr. Ines Peterson, the General Prosecutor at the Federal Court of Justice, is leading the case against Joerg S.

The indictment was brought by the Federal Prosecutor's Office before the State Security Senate of the Higher Regional Court Dresden on August 27, 2025. The details of the case were not disclosed in the press release issued by Dr. Peterson's office (Press Release No. 59 of 5 November 2024).

Joerg S. was initially detained on November 5, 2024, in Poland and was subsequently extradited to Germany on January 20, 2025. The arrest took place at the Federal Court of Justice (GBA) in Karlsruhe.
