Weekend Mishaps on the Roadways: Motorbike and Bicycle Incidents

On Saturday, September 6, 2025, a 44-year-old man from Belgian Tienen was cycling on Düren street in Eschweiler when he lost control of his vehicle in a right curve and fell, sliding across the road and colliding with a traffic sign. The incident occurred around 3 PM.

According to eyewitness accounts, the man was not driving too fast. However, the Aachen police have suspected that he may have been under the influence of marijuana, as officers found marijuana and a knuckleduster in his backpack. The man sustained severe head injuries and was taken to the hospital. For safety reasons, the knuckleduster was secured.

The traffic commission has initiated an investigation into the incident, but the current suspicion against the 44-year-old man has not been found in the available search results. The traffic commission is not mentioned as having initiated an investigation into a solo accident that occurred on Sunday, September 7, 2025, on Beerenburg street in the direction of Mützenich. A 25-year-old motorcyclist was involved in this accident, falling from his bicycle without external influence around 4:30 PM. No information was provided about the discovery of any illegal substances or weapons on the motorcyclist.
