Welcomes Schoolchildren, Overseen by Mayor Kleine-Frauns
August 26, 2025
Mayor Jürgen Kleine-Frauns has issued a greeting for the new school year, wishing everyone a good start and a successful academic year 2025/26. As the date for the return of students approaches, the mayor has specifically addressed road users, urging them to exercise caution and diligence due to the large number of first-time schoolchildren.
Approximately 9,700 students are set to return to school tomorrow, with around 900 of them starting their first year of primary school. The mayor believes that learning is not just for school, but for life, and school is a place of life with its own challenges, difficulties, joys, friendships, and potential successes.
In connection with the start of school, the community police officers will ensure caution and diligence in traffic during the students' return on August 27, 2025. The mayor advises road users to drive carefully and anticipate potential situations, encouraging them to stay relaxed during this period.
The mayor also urges road users to pay particular attention due to the large number of first-time schoolchildren. With the influx of new students, there may be increased pedestrian traffic and potential distractions on the roads.
The mayor's message serves as a reminder for everyone to be mindful of the safety of our young learners as they embark on a new academic year. Let us all work together to ensure a smooth and safe return to school for everyone involved.
