Wet Track Mishap at Lederdorn's Overtake Leads to Catastrophe

On the afternoon of August 30, 2025, a significant traffic accident occurred on State Road 2132 in Lederdorn, Lkr. Cham. The incident, which took place at around 4:40 PM, involved at least two vehicles and caused the road to be closed for several hours.

The initial investigation revealed that a 23-year-old driver, traveling towards Bad Koetzting, attempted to overtake another vehicle on a two-lane section of the road. Unfortunately, the manoeuvre resulted in a head-on collision with a car driven by a 53-year-old woman.

Both vehicles were severely damaged in the collision, and the driver's car spun onto the opposite lane. The 53-year-old driver was trapped in her vehicle, and firefighters from Lederdorn and Bad Koetzting had to use heavy equipment to extricate her.

The accident victims were transported to nearby hospitals by rescue helicopters and ambulances. All parties involved sustained serious injuries.

Traffic control during the road closure was handled by the fire departments from Chamerau and Gehstorf. The accident investigation was aided by an expert and the Regensburg Public Prosecutor's Office.

Preliminary findings suggest that the driver lost control on the rain-slick road and skidded onto the shoulder, colliding with a guardrail before the head-on collision.

The road was reopened after the vehicles were recovered and the area cleaned. The search results do not contain any information about who caused the accident at this time. Further investigation is ongoing.
