On August 30, 2025, at 4:40 PM, a severe traffic accident occurred on State Road 2132 in Lederdorn, District of Cham. The accident involved a high-performance car and another vehicle.
According to reports, the 23-year-old driver of the high-performance car was traveling towards Bad Koetzting when he lost control of his vehicle on a wet road. As a result, his vehicle head-on collided with an oncoming car driven by a 53-year-old woman. The impact was so severe that the 23-year-old driver's vehicle collided with a guardrail and spun onto the opposite lane.
The 53-year-old driver was trapped in her vehicle, and firefighters from Lederdorn and Bad Koetzting used heavy equipment to extricate her. Both parties involved in the accident sustained serious injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals via multiple air ambulances and ground ambulances.
Fire departments from Chamerau and Gehstorf handled traffic control during the accident and cleanup. The road was fully closed until late in the evening, and after the vehicles were recovered and the road was cleaned, State Road 2132 was reopened.
