White Sox Secure 3-2 Victory over Yankees, Extend Road Win Streak

The Chicago White Sox extended their road winning streak to nine games and handed the New York Yankees their first loss in ten outings, with a hard-fought 3-2 victory on Sunday.

Aaron Judge got the Yankees off to a flying start, hitting a solo home run in the 1st inning for his 43rd homer of the season. This move him into a tie with Yankees legend Yogi Berra for 5th in Yankees franchise history for career home runs.

However, the White Sox fought back, with Lenyn Sosa hitting a tiebreaking solo homer in the 8th inning for his 18th homer of the season. Tim Anderson scored the winning run in the inning, securing the victory for the White Sox.

Cam Booser got the win for the White Sox, while Mike Vasil recorded his third save in the game. Vasil celebrated a called third strike, securing the win for the White Sox.

Luis Gil took the loss for the Yankees, allowing a home run to Colson Montgomery in the 6th inning of the game. Montgomery also homered for the White Sox in the game, tying it at 2.

The Yankees had a season-high seven-game winning streak prior to this game, but this loss has seen them fall three games behind AL East-leading Toronto. The White Sox are now 1-3 against the Yankees in the season series, with three games remaining.

Following an off day, Max Fried (14-5, 3.06 ERA) will pitch for the Yankees in the opener of a three-game series against Houston. The White Sox will travel to Minnesota to begin a four-game set against the Twins on Monday.

Mike Tauchman made a leaping catch at the wall in right field to rob Giancarlo Stanton of a two-run homer in the game, preserving the Yankees' lead before the White Sox battled back to take the win.

The Yankees will be looking to bounce back from this loss and continue their pursuit of the AL East title when they face Houston. The White Sox, meanwhile, will aim to build on this victory as they head to Minnesota.
