Wiesbaden's latest transportation changes: here's what you need to be aware of

In Wiesbaden, several road closures and traffic changes are scheduled for September, affecting various areas of the city. Here's a breakdown of the upcoming changes:

From Monday, September 8th, until at least December, several streets will be closed for renovation. These include Roonstraße (from Yorckstraße to Westendstraße), Wellritzstraße (between Walramstraße and Hellmundstraße), Rudolf-Vogt-Straße (house numbers 1 to 7), Herrenstraße in Kostheim (house number 70 to Mathildenstraße), and a part of Wörthstraße (between Jahnstraße and Adelheidstraße) from October 6th to 18th. Elsaesser Platz will also be fully closed during this period, with the exception noted for the aforementioned dates.

The closure on Elsaesser Platz, which is expected to last until early December, will affect cyclists but not pedestrians, who can continue to use their usual routes. Pedestrians should also note that road renewal works are being conducted on Elsaesser Platz.

In Schierstein, the railway crossing in Freudenbergstraße will be fully closed from Friday, September 12th, at 8 PM until Saturday, September 13th, at 6 AM for maintenance work. Signposted detours will be in place for pedestrians and individual traffic during this time. Cyclists will also be affected by the closure on Leineweberweg, which will be fully closed from Monday, September 8th, until Monday, October 6th, due to the renewal of utility lines.

On Sunday, September 7th, the Kerb festival in Rambach will cause changes to ESWE traffic. During this day, the line 16 will not serve the "Hofgartenplatz" stop from 2 PM to 4 PM. However, trips heading towards Südfriedhof on line 16 will not be affected by the detour.

Lastly, the Leineweberweg in Bierstadt will be fully closed from Monday, September 8th, until Monday, October 6th. Pedestrians can use their usual routes during the closure on Leineweberweg, but cyclists will be affected. The closure on Leineweberweg is due to the renewal of utility lines, with the affected area being between Sandbachstraße and house number 8.

We advise drivers and cyclists to plan their routes accordingly and to follow the signposted detours during the closure periods. For the latest updates and information, please visit the city's official website or contact the local authorities.
