Winners of the 2024 Architecture MasterPrize (AMP) Revealed
The Architecture MasterPrize (AMP) awards have once again honoured some of the most remarkable projects and individuals in the field of architecture and design. This year, the awards ceremony will take place at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao on November 18, 2024.
In the category of Residential Architecture, Canvas House by PARTISANS and The Ravine by A Work of Substance were both recognised as Best of Best projects. The former, a stunning example of contemporary design, showcases innovative use of space and materials. The latter, a masterpiece of interior design, offers a harmonious blend of function and aesthetics.
The Best of Best in Cultural Architecture was awarded to two projects: the Istanbul Museum of Modern Art by Renzo Piano Building Workshop and the New Museum of Ethnography, Budapest by NAPUR Architect Ltd. Both museums stand as testaments to the power of architecture in preserving and showcasing our cultural heritage.
The Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center by Rockwell Group (USA) was named Architectural Design of the Year, while the Qin Lake Park: From Culture to Nature by Grasp Earth Architecture & Landscape Design Co., Ltd. (China) received the Landscape Architecture of the Year award. These projects exemplify the transformative potential of architecture in shaping our urban landscapes and fostering sustainable development.
The Hospitality Architecture category saw MPavilion 10 by Tadao Ando and Lakeside Teahouse by Domain Architects recognised as Best of Best projects. Both structures offer unique and immersive experiences, showcasing the power of architecture to create memorable spaces.
A new category, Social Impact Project of the Year, was introduced this year. This award was given to a social housing project in Spain, as well as a project in Mallorca, Balearic Islands by Fortuny-Alventosa, Morell Arquitectes (F-AM Arquitectes). These projects demonstrate the importance of architecture in addressing social issues and promoting equity.
The Interior Design of the Year was awarded to Nobu by Cuaik CDS (Mexico), while Omar Gandhi Architects (Canada) was named Interior Design Firm of the Year. James Corner was named both 2024 Landscape Firm of the Year and Landscape Architecture Firm of the Year, recognising his significant contributions to the field.
Dominique Coulon & Associés (France) was named Architecture Firm of the Year, while Franco Casaccia (Argentina) won the Interior Architecture Photographer of the Year. Albrecht Voss (Germany) was recognised as Exterior Architecture Photographer of the Year.
The AMP team and jury panel have congratulated all winners and expressed their appreciation to all participants for their contributions to the field of architecture and design. Both the 2023 and 2024 AMP winners will be celebrated at the awards ceremony, making it a night to remember in the world of architecture and design.
