Women younger in age lead the blogging field, with a study revealing earnings of bloggers in the year 2025

In the vibrant world of online content creation, Russian bloggers have made a significant impact, according to local blog "Live Kuban". These digital influencers are not only shaping the digital landscape but also influencing various sectors, as revealed by recent studies.

The blogosphere in Russia is a diverse one, with a wide range of incomes among its members. A study analysing data from over a million self-employed individuals across the country found that Russian bloggers make up 1.7% of all self-employed and entrepreneurs. The average monthly earning for a Russian blogger in 2025 is 34,000 rubles, but some manage to earn impressive figures of up to 1.2 million rubles per month.

The age distribution of Russian bloggers is interesting. A significant portion (25%) falls into the 31-40 age group, while the youngest bloggers (under 17) constitute a small group, at just 2%. Conversely, the typical Russian blogger in 2025 is a young woman aged 18 to 30, making up 73% and 63% of the total respectively. Bloggers over 40 make up 10% of the total Russian bloggers.

The number of new bloggers registering as self-employed and entrepreneurs has shown some fluctuations. There was a significant increase in registrations in June (46% compared to May), followed by a decrease in July (12% compared to June). Despite this, the number of new bloggers remains stable, even with the implementation of a law on September 1, 2025, which restricts advertising on platforms linked to extremist organizations.

Experts believe that bloggers are successfully adapting to changes in legislation. This adaptability is evident in the content created by top Russian bloggers. For instance, Liza Anokhina, a social media personality focusing on vlogs, fitness, and collaborations, and Subo Mamedov, known for vlogs, challenges, and involvement in hockey, are among the most successful Russian bloggers earning up to 1.2 million rubles monthly. Their professional backgrounds range from content creation in lifestyle, fitness, and entertainment to sports enthusiasm.

In conclusion, the Russian blogosphere is a dynamic and evolving field, with a diverse range of bloggers and a steady stream of new entrants. Despite the challenges posed by changes in legislation, bloggers continue to adapt and thrive, providing valuable content and influencing various sectors.
