Workers' Safety from Ionising Radiation Threats to Get a New European Directive, Commission Decides

Voting notifications for the Integration Council election in Dormagen will be sent out automatically by mail no later than August 24. This election, taking place on September 14, 2025, is a significant event for the city's residents with international family backgrounds, as it is the only democratic political organ they can vote for and be represented by.

The Integration Council consists of a total of 15 members, with 10 being directly elected and 5 appointed by the City Council. Eligible voters for the Integration Council include people with foreign citizenship, naturalized citizens, those with German citizenship by birth whose parents are foreign citizens, expellees, recognized refugees, and stateless persons.

Requirements for voting in the Integration Council election include a minimum age of 16, a legal residence in Germany for at least one year, and a primary residence in Dormagen for at least 16 days before the election. Eligible voters not listed in the voter registry can still register until September 2.

This year, an unusually high number of seven lists and one individual candidate are running for the Integration Council election in Dormagen. Mehmet Güneysu, the Integration Council Chairperson, encourages all eligible voters to participate in the election.

Güneysu states that the election of the Integration Council is a chance for voters to make a difference. He believes the Integration Council is the central body that critically accompanies the work of the City Council and administration, presenting concerns and working towards their resolution.

Güneysu also emphasizes that every vote strengthens unity and ensures that Dormagen remains a city where everyone has a future. He urges eligible voters to go vote and show that diversity makes the city strong.
