World-record breaking online trading platform, Bybit, reaches global milestone in number of traders for its WSOT 2025 event.

Bybit, a leading global cryptocurrency exchange, has made history by setting a new Guinness World Record for the "Most Participants in an Online Trading Competition within 24 Hours." The record-breaking event, known as the World Series of Trading (WSOT) 2025, took place from August 27 at 12:00 p.m. UTC to August 28 at 12:00 p.m. UTC.

Claudia Wang, Head of Marketing at Bybit, expressed her excitement about the achievement, stating, "We are beyond proud to have created a record-breaking event that is not only the largest, most inclusive, but also the first Guinness World Records-certified trading competition of its kind."

The WSOT 2025 event attracted a total of 71,765 participants, smashing the previous record for the "Most Participants in an Online Trading Competition within 24 Hours." This impressive turnout was verified by a reputable third-party auditor, HACKEN.

In addition to setting a new Guinness World Record, the WSOT 2025 event also set new records in terms of trading volume and participation. The total trading volume during the event reached an impressive $172.8 million, marking a 288% year-on-year increase. The Main Competition saw a significant boost in participation, with 1,474 squads taking part, a 288% increase from the previous year.

The event also unlocked an additional prize pool of $6.2 million in USDT, bringing the total prize pool to $10 million. The first 30,000 participants who met the criteria for the world record were awarded an additional secret prize money. These 30,000 eligible participants will share an additional secret prize pool beyond the main $10 million WSOT prize pool.

Claudia Wang emphasized the importance of this achievement, saying, "Bybit is proud to spearhead efforts to bring recognition to the WSOT family and believes that the event will be remembered for remarkable milestones in the crypto industry." Wang went on to say, "The WSOT 2025 event was designed to rewrite and reshape crypto history."

Bybit, as the first and only cryptocurrency exchange to hold this Guinness World Record title, is honoured as the largest online crypto trading competition in its category. The exchange is excited by the achievement of the $6.2 million USDT prize pool during the WSOT 2025 event and looks forward to continuing to push the boundaries of what is possible in the crypto industry.
