WPT Launches Wildcard: Social Media Poker with Unconventional Gameplay

The World Poker Tour (WPT) has introduced WPT Wildcard, a fresh poker brand focusing on social media content and unconventional gameplay. The first events, part of the WPT Prime Lodge 2025, are set for October at the Lodge Card Club in Austin, Texas.

WPT Wildcard will debut during the upcoming WPT Prime festival, running from September 27 to October 13. The first event, Heart Attack Poker, is a live-streamed cash game featuring WPT Ambassadors and content creators wearing heart rate monitors. WPT CEO Adam Pliska describes Wildcard as 'a regularly occurring slate of unpredictable gameplay environments designed for content creators and their communities'.

The Mystery Bounty Wildcard Chaos event, with a $300 open buy-in and a $50,000 guaranteed prize pool, will introduce unique power-ups and penalties to the tournament format. These include Respawn, Table Swap, New River, Bounty Forfeit, and Button Ban. WPT Wildcard prioritizes streaming, short-form content, and audience engagement, aiming to expand to other WPT stops worldwide after its initial events at the Lodge Card Club in Texas.

WPT Wildcard brings a new twist to poker, combining live gameplay with social media engagement. The inaugural events in Texas promise unique formats and experiences, setting the stage for future expansion.
