The A5 highway towards Karlsruhe has reopened following a single-vehicle accident that occurred near Freiburg. The incident, which caused a 45-minute traffic diversion, involved a 72-year-old man who lost control of his car, causing it to veer off to the right, flip over, and end up in a ditch.

Emergency services were promptly called to the scene, approximately one kilometer after the Freiburg-South exit. The man was injured in the accident and was transported to the hospital. Fortunately, his current condition is not severely injured, according to the latest information.

The accident caused significant damage to the driver's car, which had to be towed away from the accident site. Regrettably, the vehicle was completely destroyed. No other vehicles or individuals were reported to be involved in the incident.

The accident site caused a minor disruption, with traffic being diverted for 45 minutes. The A5 highway was closed due to the accident but has now fully reopened.
