Yakutia experiences a significant spike in forest fires, expanding over 80 thousand hectares
According to a recent report from YAKUTIA.INFO, the forest fires in the Republic of Yakutia have escalated, with an increase of approximately 17% in the area of fires compared to yesterday. As of today, there are now 175 active forest fires in the region.
The most severely affected districts include Tompon, Aldan, Ust-Maysky, Abyisky, Ust-Yansky, Verkhnekolymsky, Momsky, Verkhoyansky, and Srednekolymsky. The total area covered by these fires is over 544,000 hectares, a significant increase from the 460,000 hectares reported yesterday by Deputy Minister of Ecology of the Republic Andrei Konoplev, who also reported 164 active fires at that time.
