Yemeni Houthis asserted responsibility for assaults against Israel
In the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict, Yemen's Houthi rebels claimed drone attacks on three strategic locations: Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, Ramon Airport near Eilat, and a sensitive target in Dimona. On Sunday, a Houthi drone hit Ramon Airport, injuring two people and temporarily closing the airspace.
Meanwhile, in Gaza, the Israeli army has continued its offensive, striking another high-rise building in Gaza city, which it claims was used by Hamas. This marks the fourth high-rise building Israel has destroyed in four days. The Israeli military also reported an ensuing gun battle, resulting in the wounding of another soldier.
The violence has taken a heavy toll on Palestinian civilians. At least 59 Palestinians were killed in Israeli air strikes and gunfire in Gaza on Monday, including six seeking aid in Khan Younis. Since October 7, 2023, the conflict has claimed the lives of at least 64,522 Palestinians and injured 163,096, according to Gaza's Health Ministry.
International condemnation of the escalating violence has been swift. UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres denounced Monday's "terror attack" in Jerusalem, which killed six people. French President Emmanuel Macron has condemned the attack in Ramot Alon and called for an end to the cycle of bloodshed.
The Arab and Islamic foreign ministers have rejected all statements made by Israel regarding the displacement of Palestinians from their territory. They also condemned Israel's policy of targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure, and efforts to prolong and widen the conflict.
The UAE strongly condemned a "terrorist" shooting incident on the outskirts of Jerusalem. Spain has recalled its ambassador from Tel Aviv after Israel's Foreign Minister Gideon Saar accused Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez of anti-Semitism and barred two government ministers from entry. As of September 2025, only Spain has recalled its ambassador from Israel following mutual accusations between the Spanish Prime Minister and the Israeli government.
Israel's offensive has reportedly killed most of Hamas's top leadership and vastly diminished its military capabilities. However, the Israeli army identified a hostile aircraft infiltration in the Dead Sea and West Bank areas, setting off sirens.
In response, the Arab and Islamic foreign ministers called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, for Israel to lift all restrictions on humanitarian access, and for the provision of international support to enable the Palestinian Authority to return to Gaza. They also stressed that Israel's flagrant violations of international humanitarian law must be stopped and demanded accountability of all those involved.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to pursue "nests of terror" after six people were killed in a shooting in the outskirts of Jerusalem. The ministers stressed that Israel's offensive must end and that a peaceful resolution to the conflict is the only way forward.
